NobleCanni Series: (9) “Mr. CBD”
Emma Knox
Our CEO at NobleCanni is an almost indescribable man. When I try to explain him to people, I can never begin to find the right words. Eccentric isn’t enough, nor is unique or anomalous or paradoxical. He’s– Well, he’s Ali Toghral.
When people think “CEO,” they think Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos. They think black, white, and corporate blue collared shirts buttoned all the way to the top (or, in Jobs’ case, a turtleneck). They think businessmen. But our CEO doesn’t look anything like them; he doesn’t even consider himself a businessman! As just one example, Ali dresses most days like he’s walking a fantastical runway, decked in bright, wild patterns with sharp shoes to match.
In the office, and everywhere else he goes, Ali is a force. When music is playing, he’s dancing or singing or both (admittedly not very well, but always very fun). He brings in bags of snack cakes and throws them on the work table, saying “go crazy.” He takes people up to the roof and talks about god-knows-what. He swears like a sailor (on Tuesdays especially) and jokes with everybody, teasing in the best way. And sometimes, he even wrestles people in the office! It’s never dull at NobleCanni when Ali’s in.
But above all else, Ali, our CEO, is a dreamer. He can describe our future at NobleCanni with as much detail as a seer. He talks about our company on billboards, his interview with Oprah, the world at our feet. What’s more, he loves telling us how he pictures the NobleCanni office as we grow: we’ll have giraffes, he says, and cats and dogs climbing on condos… and bean bags! and a DJ! and a barista! and parties! and it’ll be the coolest place to work. What’s not to love about all that, right?
It all comes back to CBD. CBD was the beginning of Ali’s passionate career and life. With CBD, he found himself, his mission, and his future. And he wants to spend that future promoting, marketing, and sharing CBD with the world so they can experience what he’s experienced. He’s driven by helping people, the environment, and giving back, and he wants nothing less than a utopia (although unlikely). And he wants it all through the power of CBD. So when I think “cannabidiol,” I think “Ali.” To everybody who knows him, they’re synonymous. Ali Toghral, CEO of NobleCanni, is without a doubt Mr. CBD.
