Make Your Dachshund Say “Hot Diggity Dog!”
Emma Knox
Although people may not remember the name of your dog (let alone know how to spell it), Dachshunds like yours are iconic. They’re the Hot Dog dogs! They’re the Slinky Dog from Toy Story and Mr. Weiner from Open Season! But even those dogs didn’t do Dachshunds justice. Dachshunds… Well, you know. They’re more like people than dogs. They’re your roommates (who don’t pay rent), not your pets. You got a Dachshund because you want a dog who’s bold and spunky like you. You didn’t–God forbid–want a boring breed. And you got exactly what you bargained for!
Your dog is your friend, possibly one of your best friends. They’re only interested in you–everyone else can shove it–and will keep a watch out for any lurkers. They love chatting with you, never stop talking, and can be very stubborn… but also very affectionate. (Come to think of it, my best friend is a lot like a Dachshund.) You don’t treat your dog like a thing or a child- you treat them almost like an equal. The breed demands it. But because of the bond you share, the closeness, they often get separation anxiety when you leave them for long periods of time. And it makes you want to cry when you think about your friend alone at home, lonely without you.
What’s more, they’re stubborn little buggers. They don’t train easily, because they have no interest and because they’re thinking, you’re kidding, right? So maybe you give up training altogether- but that’s a recipe for disaster. Or maybe you send them to obedience school… but that likely won’t receive well either. So you have to train them yourself and try to see their stubbornness as endearing rather than annoying… which you can usually do. But occasionally, you wish they’d just listen. CBD can help them (and you) do that.
There’s also the issue of Dachshund’s long, lean backs. Picture a hammock with its ends tied to two trees. Now picture a big man lying in that hammock, swinging and bouncing and shifting for years. At some point, the hammock will probably fall or break. The same goes for your dog’s back. It’s long, the center is not supported enough over time, and will likely cause a slipped disc. 25% of Dachshunds suffer from disc damage in their spines, causing excruciating pain and sometimes paralysis. If your dog falls in that statistic, they’ll be in serious pain for the remainder of their life. The only “solutions” are steroids and other risky medications… And then, there’s CBD.
When you think of your Dachshund, you probably can’t imagine them being in any sort of pain or indignity–they’re too hard-headed for all that–but try. Try to imagine your friend heartbroken when you’re gone, long out of your control, in devastating pain with no way of helping them. Now, imagine helping them. That’s what NobleCanni’s CBD products can do for you. CBD can ease your pet’s (separation) anxiety, reduce stubbornness and increase relaxation, relieve inflammation and pain, and keep their sleek coats shiny. It’s completely natural, completely safe, and completely right for your Dachshund if any of these things sound lacking. And you don’t have to convince them to take it, either: since CBD is an (occasionally-flavored) oil, you can mix it into their food and they’ll never know. It’ll be a sweet surprise you’re gifting them with. You’ll make them say, Hot diggity dog!
